How to get to Graz?
You can get to Graz in several ways: by plane, train or bus. The last two options are slightly cheaper, but take longer and are possible only for European tourists. The central train station daily servis trains from Vienna, Salzburg, Zurich, Zagreb and Budapest.
The city has its own airport – Graz-Thalerhof Airport. It is located 9 km from the city center and serves domestic and international flights from Turkey, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. You can get from the airport to the city by taxi, bus (No. 630, 631) or by train (No. S5).
Things to do in Graz
The historic city center is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Therefore, the first thing you can do in Graz is to go on a walking tour to the Old Town. The heart of the Old Town is the central square of Hauptplatz. Here are the city hall, historic houses and churches.
Above the city rises Mount Schlossberg (Castle Hill), another most popular attraction of the city. At the top is an old clock tower, ruins of a fortress and a huge park. You can get here by cable car, which has been operating since 1894.
