Lankaran is rightfully considered one of the pearls of Azerbaijan and one of the most beautiful cities in the country. The first settlements on the site of the modern city arose in the Bronze Age. Since that time, Persians, Albanians, Talyshs and Russians visited the local land. Each of the peoples left its recognizable mark in the guise of a modern city. Add to this the influence of different cultures due to the fact that the city was at the crossroads of important trade routes from Europe to Asia, and you can see how diverse and beautiful this city is.

How to get to Lankaran?
Lankaran is located just 260 km from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on the shores of the Caspian Sea. You can get here in several ways: by plane, train or bus.
Lankaran has its own airport, which also has an international status. It is quite small in size and designed for small aircraft. Airplanes from Russian cities and domestic flights arrive here daily. From Baku, you can fly to the resort in 40 minutes by plane “Azerbaijan Airlines”.
Also, from Baku it is easy to get to Lankaran by train (travel time is about 6 hours) and by bus from the bus station (runs only twice a day at 7 am and 4 pm).

Lankaran will not leave indifferent any tourist in the first place because it can offer various types of activities. Among them:
- Beach vacation;
The best beaches of the city are located on the Sarah peninsula in the Narimanabad district. The waters are clear from purity, and the sand on the beach, like everywhere in the city, is black. Local sand is very healthy. It is used in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous and cardiovascular systems. In the sun, such sand is very hot, so be sure to take closed shoes if you plan to walk along the beach.

A huge number of cultural and historical monuments have survived in Lankaran, the construction time of which dates from the period from the 8th to the 18th century. Here are some of them:
Lankaran fortress; The fortress once served as a defensive structure, in the 18th century it turned into a bazaar. Later, mosques were built inside the fortress, which still work.
Lighthouse; it has become a kind of symbol of the city. Previously, it was located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, but after a fall in sea level it turned out to be quite far from the coast and now it is surrounded by residential buildings.
Hanega; This is a whole complex of buildings, which includes mosques, tombs and caravanserai.
