The shores of Turkey are washed by four seas: the Black, Marmara, Mediterranean and Aegean. It is not surprising that such marine diversity has a great influence on the development of the country. Since the Ottoman period, Bodrum was one of the most important centers for the production of boats; it housed the largest number of shipyards in the country. Now it houses the Maritime Museum, which exhibits not only boats and equipment, but also a large collection of seashells of various shapes and sizes.

History of Maritime Museum

Bodrum is one of the most popular resorts in Turkey. Here guests and tourists are always available with the highest quality tourist services, and of course, the best beaches, bright sun and the cleanest waters of the Mediterranean. In addition to this, the city is constantly thinking about the development of excursion tourism of different directions. Partly thanks to this kind of initiative, the Maritime Museum in Bodrum appeared.

In October 2010, a festival was held in Bodrum, at which 18 purpose-built boats were presented. This event aroused great interest among both locals and city visitors. Therefore, local authorities decided to build the Maritime Museum. In addition, already on October 15, 2011, this museum began to receive visitors and became one of the most interesting places in the city.
