How to get to Tbilisi?
The easiest and most obvious way to get to Tbilisi is by plane. Tbilisi Shota Rustavelli International Airport serves hundreds of flights daily from Europe, North Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East.
To get from the airport to the city you can use:
- Taxi service. A taxi rank is located directly opposite the terminal exit. Travel time is about 20 minutes.
- By bus / shuttle. Look for the bus route number 37, it serves passengers around the clock.
- A train. The station is located just over 50 meters from the arrival terminal. The only drawback is that the train runs only twice a day: at 9 a.m. and at 6 p.m. The train arrives at Tbilisi Central Station.

Things to do in Tbilisi
The Kura River flows through Tbilisi, which divides the city into two parts. The most interesting areas for tourists in the city are the Old Town, Avlabari and Mtatsminda. It is here that the main historical and architectural attractions of the city are located. It usually takes 1-2 days to inspect most of them. Here you can see the famous sulfur baths, ancient churches and fortresses, and even the residence of Georgian kings.
In the center of the Georgian capital there are also quite a few interesting places. For example, Rustavelli Avenue. It houses the National Theaters and Museums, the Academy of Sciences, the Georgian Parliament, the most expensive and luxurious hotels and restaurants. Another no less interesting place in the center is Botanical Garden. Once this garden belonged to the Georgian kings, today it is an artificially created reserve right in the center of the city.
Be sure to ride the famous Tbilisi funicular, which leads from the center of the capital to the upper park of Mtatsminda Mount (St. David Mount). It offers a beautiful panoramic city, there are attractions for children and adults, as well as restaurants where you can relax and have a tasty meal.
